Rico's failed audition!

I am not a pet person, not even a little. I love our dog, he is after all living thing created by our Heavenly Father, I don't want him. I don't want to fight my kids to feed him. I don't want to fight my kids to pick up poo. I don't want to chase him throughout the neighborhood.

A couple weeks ago I put him on KSL.com in an effort to find a new and better home for him. One day I got an email from someone saying they were interested in looking at him and could they come out and meet him. I immediately replied in the affirmative. Well she came out and asked if she could walk him, I said that would be fine but he's not very good on a leash. We leashed him up and off they went. They had been gone for a really long time and I started getting worried-not really, more curious than worried as to where they had gone. I called Marci and told her what was going on, she thought maybe he had run away from her and she was too embarrassed to come back without him!
Turns out when they returned they had had a lovely walk. In fact she commented on how well Rico was known in the neighborhood, that he must be quite popular. She said she would need to talk to her husband and would get back to me-which is code for, sorry I don't want your piece of crap dog!

So, if you should see Rico roaming the neighborhood with a stranger, it may be that he has found a potential new owner! Please talk him up, for all our sakes! Otherwise, if you know of a farm somewhere that might need a good dog, let me know!

I share your feelings. I have a slight appreciation for dogs, but in general they're "piece of crap" dogs. My husband and kids think someday they'll talk me into one, but I know it will just be one more thing to nag them about....they barely clean up after themselves. Do they really think they'll be good at keeping up after a pet??? I think not!

WHAT!!?! I love dogs. I would of taken him if I didn't already have two!! Dogs want to please you, and love you no matter what. They don't talk back, you don't have to hear them complain about the food that is given go them. They are always excited to see you. And for the poop. I just compapre it to laundry, or messy rooms. I hate cleaning it up, however, when I do, they are right their beside me wanting to play. And now that my kids are too old to hold and cuddle with while watching TV or reading etc. I love to just have the warm body next to me to pet and be with. I guess I'm crazy.
Good Luck with finding a good home!!

I thought that you already got rid of Rico..... this feels like deja vu. That's probably not how you spell that but I did fail my French class so go figure. Anyway I'm with ya with the dog thing. Not sure why we still have our "poopy Snoopy!" No one takes care of him but me and Tommy and we don't even like him!

Here is a side note; I've been blocked by Brian and Nan on their blog page it won't let me sign in and see their blog. What's with that???? Should my feelings be hurt? Have you been blocked too or is it just me? I'm always the last to know anything. I must have offended them and no one told me!! :0 (Just kidding Brian incase you are reading this, but I really can't sign in.)

Julie,
You seriously crack me up! If you find a good home for Rico see if our Shih Tzu can go with him...I feel your pain! :)
