Wrapping up the year!

Rather than send the traditional "brag" letter with our Christmas card, I thought updating our blog would be a little more technically advanced! Besides, in fifteen years I have never really done Christmas cards, so why start now!

Big Al

Alex has had another great year in sports. When Jr. Jazz finished in March, we started baseball. This year he played Babe Ruth league where the big kids play. His team took first in the city league, went on through region and they were finally eliminated at the State Tournament the last week of July. But that was okay, football try-outs started August 3rd! Alex was on the Super B team where he quarterbacked again this year. His team scored the most points in their division but they were eliminated in the sudden death playoffs. They went 6-3, not too bad! It would seem he's developing his mom's competitive spirit! From the sideline at the last game, all I could hear was his coach say, "Alex don't you want to play defense? The ref told you to leave? You threw the ball at his nuts? On purpose?" Although I don't condone this kind of behavior, I did giggle a little bit!

Groovin with Kaiti

Kaiti has definitely had a big year. In March her dance competition team took a 1st and a 2nd on the two dances they entered at the Dixie Spectacular in St George. The first place qualified that dance for Nationals. In April they took both dances to another qualifier where both dances took a 1st so they both were then qualified for Nationals West at Lagoon. At Nationals in May, they took first! She also played a little BonnetBall too- and I mean a little! As it turned out, her team's games where played on Monday and Saturdays. Monday night was also dance competition night! But she and her BFF Marissa had fun anyway. They mostly liked the cheers, not real big on the ball playing! Kaiti turned 12 in November and is now in Young Women's. She thinks she's 16 or 17 and it's killing us. She is totally boy crazy. And as always, she holds her own with her brothers. But I gotta say, Kaiti is our glue. She is the first to remember to pray and always fasts on Fast Sunday. She keeps us in line.

Then there's Max

Max has had a year of firsts. First taste of mac n' cheese, first peanut butter sandwich-no jam, lost his first 2 teeth, and we are still holding out hope that he will sleep his first night in his own bed. Umm, did I mention, HE'S 7!!!! This year Max played machine pitch baseball. Not only can he hit a ball at 40mph but he also played catch. He mostly stopped those 40mph balls-only one left a mark and made him cry. He wants to be just like Alex, only right-handed! Max is still totally into Pokemon. I should have kept the thousands of cards that Kaiti and Alex had. He would have loved them and when the he outgrows this (hopefully soon) I could have made it rich selling them on e-bay. Kaiti and Alex always say that Max is my favorite. But I always remind them, they are All My Favorites!

Troy and I have kept busy this year chasing them all. We still work on the Riverton Baseball board. Every year I say it's my last year, but I sure love the friends we have made there. We have done a little traveling too. We went to San Diego in January and for Troy's birthday, I surprised him and we went to San Fransico. On the way to LegoLand we got stuck in Sacremento so we crashed at Tommy and Kristy's. That's the interesting thing about traveling standby. You never really know where you'll end up! It was way fun though. Tommy and Kristy are great hosts! Now if I could just get them to come here!

Here's wishing everyone a wonderful Holiday and a properous New Year!

I am thankful for...

Friendly competition! Sunday afternoons with backyard kickball! A beautiful home where the grass is green in the summertime. Three great kids who are more likely to make me laugh than make me worry. And a best friend who takes such good care of us all!
