"ALL ABOUT MAX" MONTH

Max has been counting the days until his baptism. He turns 8 on Saturday, he's more excited about getting baptized than the Birthday! The other day he was having a "moment". Everyone had been teasing him and he was feeling sad. I tried to make him feel better by explaining that those feelings of sadness come from Satan. Satan wants us to be unhappy. In fact, he knows that if we feel sad that we won't want to do the things that Heavenly Father has asked us to do, like be baptized. I told him that he has many friends, both grown-ups and kids his age that look to him for happiness and an example of what Jesus would want us to be. Then came the moment of truth. He explained that he wasn't even sure he wanted to be baptized because, "even people who have been baptized swear...Dad said the s-h-i word this morning!" WOW! was that an awakening. The fact of the matter is, I swear more than Troy. Since then I have really tried to watch my words. It's amazing what a good example that kid is to us. I love him so very much and couldn't be happier about his decision to be baptized.

Today was the first day of 3rd grade. I don't really know what has gotten into him, but he thinks he is "all that and a bag of chips"! He did grace me with a quick picture of himself and his pals, Bo and Brooklyn!

Is it any wonder why I find it difficult to sleep in my own bed? This happens pretty close to every night. I keep telling Max that 3rd graders sleep in their own bed. He doesn't seem to care!
